From Top Left to Right: I am a member of a cooking group called the Yum Yum’s…more about these wonderful ladies later, but basically we work through a cookbook and all contribute recipes to a dinner one night a month. One of our amazingly talented members, Colleen, actually WROTE our current cookbook which you can find here: Come for Supper? – the memoirs of a reluctant hostess. It is so different than any other cookbook because it is broken up by different styles of cooking rather than types of meals…for example, at this past meeting we did a Cajun dinner and last time we did a Mongolian Hot Pot. Included in this book is how to cook an artichoke (I can add in the comments if anyone is interested), and it was soooo good! I have always been a little intimidated, but it turned out great…she also has several options for good sauces to go with it, delicious!
Tried out this breakfast recipe from Mix & Match Mama…she has tons of great, simple recipes which is what I love. These were great and so simple because you can add in many different varieties!
I spent Saturday in Austin photographing at The Capitol and it was soooo gorgeous! It is the perfect place for bridal portraits because of the awesome variety in locations and they let you shoot inside as well…for FREE…and let you go wherever you want.
Sunday was family day and it really was a perfect day, good quality time together watching the Cowboys, drinking a couple of delicious Bloody Mary’s and a water balloon fight. How can you beat that? The weather really was awesome and it was so nice spending the day together relaxing and having fun. Oh…and Bakon Vodka…disgusting in anything else, but makes a crazy good Bloody Mary!
